Clicker Vendor Presentations Nov 10 & 15

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Thanks to all of you who attended the most recent meeting of the Faculty Users of SmartSite. I enjoyed the discussions about the Provost Hybrid Course Award, the possibility of sharing student ID pictures via the SmartSite Roster or Profile tool, and different ways of viewing SmartSite Gradebook data. If you missed it, feel free to browse the minutes from Friday's meeting.

Today I’m writing primarily to invite you to join other faculty and me at presentations by two PRS (or “clicker”) vendors this coming Thursday and Tuesday afternoons. Because of significant negative feedback from faculty about the current clicker company used on campus, Interwrite PRS; because the Interwrite clicker currently being used has been discontinued; and because the company’s clickers are not ADA compliant, we have invited to campus representatives of the two best-reviewed PRS companies that are fully ADA compliant: Turning Technologies and iClicker.

Turning Technologies will join us on Thursday, November 10, from 1-2

iClicker will join us on Tuesday, November 15, from 12-1

Both meetings will take place in the Large Conference Room at 1310 Surge III.

These two demonstrations have been scheduled to allow faculty to offer feedback to the staff/faculty PRS workgroup of the Campus Council for Information Technology that has been charged to set PRS standards for the campus, and to choose a PRS company that best meets the needs of our faculty and students.

We hope you can join us for one or both of these vendor demonstrations.

Best regards,

Andy Jones
