Web Design Workshops during Summer Session II

Glenda Drew (Department of Design) is offering one-day design workshops and Marc Ishisaka-Nolfi (Art Studio) is offering a full class on Design during Summer Session II. Tell your students about these great opportunities to learn about web design!

DES16 – MWF 8:00am-12:05pm in SCC 2102

Enjoy Summer Session II with Marc Ishisaka-Nofli basking in the world of computer software for creative design development, applying basic design theory, principles of color, visual organization and hierarchy, typography, and image enhancement  in Design 16.The pre-requisite is Design 1 or consent of instructor. If you are not a Design major, but you are a senior, you can take this class!

TCS 007D – Monday, August 6 & Tuesday, August 7, 12-5pm in ArtAnex 103

Down with template-based web design! Join glenda drew and learn to Do It Yourself using html5 and css3! Learn how to use the new html5 semantic markup, including linking and working with images, in this 10-hour, 1-unit workshop. Learn to use css3 to style your web pages, including working with color, type and transform properties. Learn to validate code according to the World Wide Web Consortium. Techniques will apply to cross-platform, cross-browser delivery, with no required plug-ins. All students will make a website and publish a website. And, the best thing, there are no pre-requisites for this workshop.

TCS 170D – Wednesday, August 8 & Thursday August 9, 12-5pm in ArtAnex 103

If 007D got you excited about the many possibilities of web design, this workshop is for you! Learn to control page layout. Make a website that is centered in the browser, or one that expands to fill the browser window, or better yet one that changes style when viewed on a tablet or mobile device. The future is here! Techniques will apply to cross-platform, cross-browser delivery. The pre-requisite is TCS 007D or understanding of basic html5 and css3. Also taught by glenda drew.

TCS 007E – Monday, August 13 & Tuesday August 14, 12-5pm in ArtAnex 103

Make it move! Join glenda drew and learn to create motion graphics in AfterEffects. Learn to move it, rotate it, scale it and fade it. You can even make it 3D! Animate graphics using sound as a guide! Upload your motion graphics to youtube and vimeo! And, the best thing, there are no pre-requisites for this workshop.

TCS 170E – Wednesday, August 15 & Thursday, August 16, 12-5pm in ArtAnex 103

If 007E got you excited about the many possibilities of motion graphics, this workshop is for you! Add images and video source footage and discover the world of effects in…you guessed it…AFTER EFFECTS! The pre-requisite is TCS 170E or understanding of basic AfterEffects. Also taught by glenda drew.
