NS is No Longer a Grading Option
Beginning Fall 2012, the “Enrolled-No Work Submitted” (also known as “ENWS” or “NS”) will no longer be a grading option at UC Davis. This means that faculty must assign a failing grade to students who do not attend class, or do not submit any work for a grade, for a class in which they have enrolled or have been added via the waitlist.
Our best advice is for you to encourage students to keep an eye on courses for which they are waitlisted, and be conscious of drop dates. If the drop date passes and the student has taken no action, he or she will receive a failing grade for the course.
