Evan Bailyn is truly a master when it comes about search engine optimization. I have read his book and that was worth reading. I am not gonna miss his keynote on Wednesday for sure. Thanks Davis to bringing him.

Evan Bailyn has really impressive results, but I always find it very funny when someone is talking about outsmarting google. Google is one of the biggest companies in the world, employing the most talented people. Artificial inteligence is getting better and outsmarting so many people will be nearly impossible. I also think that is not worth doing in most cases, because google will find out your black hat techniques eventually.

Good luck with your SEO! 🙂

I agree with you Mike. People are always trying to “game” the system and find easy tricks to manipulate web searches, but in actuality if that time was spent developing good content and establishing a good network of links the payoff would be far greater. I believe in the not so near future many of the companies that have been using “black hat” or “grey hat” techniques will begin to get penalized heavily (some have already via Penguin and Panda updates). The search bots are getting more sophisticated and able to pick out the techniques people are using. I cringe when SEO’s speak about manipulating the system because long after these companies have moved on to their next customer the business could suffer the repercussions of their techniques for a long time.

Linking directly from your homepage to the pages of your best-selling products will improve both usability and search engine performance. By their very nature, these internal links will see a lot of traffic. Search engines will pick up on all that traffic when they index your site and add plenty of weight to search terms that appear in the links.

In other words, the more popular a site is, the more it links it will accumulate this will point to it on the internet. Logically, to get a high page rank, you must have traffic link from other sites pointing to yours. Not easy I hear you say, and to implement this mechanism can be long and costly.

Great blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?

I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option?
There are so many choices out there that I’m totally confused .. Any recommendations? Many thanks!
