Invitation to this Friday's DOLCE Meeting

Welcome to another school year! At Academic Technology Services, we are kicking off this year’s engaging series of faculty forums with a Discussing Online Learning and Collaborative Education (DOLCE) meeting this coming Friday, October 4 at 12pm in 1310 Surge III. We hope you'll be able to attend!

Rick Pomeroy of the School of Education will join us and describe some of the ways that teachers are using technology in their K12 classrooms. We will discuss applications of Rick’s ideas and his teachers’ practices to the undergraduates we teach at UC Davis.

We will also hear from staff members representing The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and Academic Technology Services. Kara Moloney and Allison Cantwell will also present on learning outcomes assessment, and Fernando Socorro will provide an update on Clickers. Finally, Dan Comins will give a brief preview of his new FLIP workshop series to be held on third Fridays of the month in Science Lab 2060. “FLIP” stands for Future of Learning in Practice.

As you may remember, our faculty forums meet first and third Fridays in 1310 Surge III, and all UC Davis and visiting faculty are welcome. We discuss teaching and instructional technology in an informal setting, with many participants dining on bag lunches during the prepared and unprepared remarks.

We look forward to seeing you this Friday!
