Last Chance to Register for SITT 2017!
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
The 2017 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology takes place next week, on Friday, September 15th from 8:30-5:00 in 6 Olson. If you have not yet registered, please do so here as soon as possible to ensure your Chickpeas lunch order will be received. We will place the food order on September 11th at noon.
In addition to an engaging keynote from Dr. Janine Wilson (see here for her recent interview for The Wheel), this year SITT will feature ten-minute morning microtalks:
Jeff Mitchell: “Efforts to Increase Student Engagement with Video”
Victoria Cross: “Student Presentations without Tears”
Heather Hether: “Using Canvas to Support Team-Based Learning”
Kristin Kiesel: “Peers Explaining to Peers: Instructional videos explaining key concepts in Economics”
The morning portion of SITT will also feature a panel on “Teaching Large Classes with Technology.” Panelists include Mark Verbitsky, Mona Monfared, and Marina Crowder. Paul Salitsky will act as the moderator.
In the afternoon, breakout sessions will give SITT participants an opportunity to engage in hands-on learning in small groups. We will gather for a “looking forward” discussion at 4:30 in 6 Olson.
