Dr. Ted Geier presenting at DOLCE on February 2nd, 2018

Audio and Video Now Available from February 2nd DOLCE

Dear Faculty,

The first DOLCE of 2018 set the tone for a great year of faculty and instructional designers sharing their insightful perspectives on using technology to serve and promote diversity at UC Davis.

Dr. Ted Geier of American Studies spoke on “Using Canvas to Empower Students.” Ted’s strategies for empowering students to practice ownership and interact engagingly in his course are inspiring and applicable to any discipline.

Margaret Merrill then shared information about “ShareYou,” an exciting community media project from Academic Technology Services. Seeking to encourage the UC Davis community to share stories of inclusion and other means of enacting our UC Davis Principles of Community, the project will be accepting submissions until April 23rd. The submissions will be featured on the ShareYou website as well as the live exhibition on May 2nd. If you would like to submit something or encourage your students to share, find more information here.

If you were unable to attend, the video and audio for the February 2nd DOLCE are now available. Please mark your calendars now for the February 16th faculty forum on “Teaching Students with Disabilities” led by Jennifer Billeci, the Director of the Student Disability Center.

Best,

Alex Rockey
