Audio and video now available for March 1st DOLCE on Human Rights and Accessible Technologies

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

The March 1st DOLCE began with an introduction to UC Davis’ new Assistant Provost and Associate Chief Information Officer. Dr. Meggan Levitt shared her extensive background in instructional technology as well as the details of her work for UC Davis. Her focus on providing services from a faculty and student perspective illustrate her dedication to UC Davis students and faculty.

Keith David Watenpaugh, professor and director of Human Rights Studies, shared his work developing the Article 26 backpack. The Article 26 backpack functions as a digital and education portfolio to support refugees in storing vitally important documentation such as university or high school diplomas. His inspiring presentation provides an example of how we can use academic technologies to promote equity.

Joshua Hori, accessible technology specialist, concluded this DOLCE by sharing ten technologies available to UC Davis students that support student learning. His in-depth description of each of these technologies is worth watching as it details how these tools can support students and create more inclusive courses.

If you were unable to attend, feel free to check out the video and audio from our March 1st DOLCE.

Best,

Andy Jones
