Thank You for Participating in SITT 2020

Dear Participants in the 2020 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology,

Thanks to all of you who participated in SITT this year! We’ve heard from many of you that the necessarily virtual approach to this year’s institute addressed many needs: it allowed more of you to participate, it facilitated an active back-channel of discussions and discoveries in the Zoom chats, and it allowed us to review asynchronous faculty presentations and interviews on our own time. Perhaps most importantly, the approach to SITT 2020 kept all of us distanced and safe during the pandemic.

Please review all the pre-recorded faculty talks and interviews, as well as the recordings of any of the live sessions that you might have missed. Slide decks and other resources are available for your review at the SITT 2020 Resource Page.

The success of SITT 2020 was made possible by our faculty presenters and interviewees, the Instructional Design team in Academic Technology Services, including Mark Wilson and Dr. Margaret Merrill, and our GSRs Larissa Saco and Fei Xue; other members of ATS staff, including our hardworking instructional technologist; our friends at the Center for Educational Effectiveness; and our active SITT Advisory Committee, comprised of Mark Verbitsky from Political Science, Patricia Turner from CEE, and Lillian Jones from Spanish and Portuguese. To keep up with relevant offerings, please keep visiting The Wheel, our instructional technology blog, and the Keep Teaching website.

Because we seek always to improve our yearly summer institute and to broaden participation in our faculty forums during the school year, we ask that you complete the SITT evaluation form. When you do, please nominate yourself or a colleague as a future speaker or panelist at one of our twice-monthly Friday noon events, starting in October.

With your help and ideas, we look forward to sustaining the SITT spirit of innovation during the 2020-2021 school year.

With thanks and my best wishes for a safe and relaxing summer,

Dr. Andy Jones
Master of Ceremonies, The Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology

P.S. Submit your SITT evaluation now, as we will begin reviewing all the responses on Monday, August 10.
