The December DOLCE Video Recording is Now Available!
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
Thanks to all of you who joined us at our December DOLCE (Discussing Online Learning and Collaborative Education) titled, “Online Discussions and Accessible Materials in Remote Instruction.” We enjoyed presentations from Dr. Marc Tancredi Facciotti from the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Genome Center, and Larissa Saco from the Department of Sociology and Academic Technology Services (ATS). The DOLCE video recording is now available!
Dr. Marc Tancredi Facciotti, Associate Professor with appointments in the Genome Center and Department of Biomedical Engineering, spoke about a tool called NotaBene (NB) for online discussion “in context” (i.e., directly in the course content). He has been exploring how this type of forum allows him to predict student engagement and sentiment, and build tools for peer collaboration and instruction. Larissa Saco, Doctoral Student in the Department of Sociology and Graduate Student Researcher for ATS, covered tech processes for improving the accessibility of Canvas sites and course materials, including presentation slides, Zoom recordings, and AggieVideo media.
