The Wheel is a blog designed to provide information about educational technology so that faculty members at University of California, Davis don’t have to “reinvent the wheel” as they incorporate technology into their classrooms.
An Academic Technology Services initiative, The Wheel is produced by Academic Associate Director of Academic Technology Services, Dr. Andy Jones, and Larissa Saco, Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology.
Among other things, Dr. Andy leads the monthly Discussing Online Learning and Collaborative Education (DOLCE) meetings and the monthly Faculty Forums, serves on the Educational Technology subcommittee of the Campus Council for Information Technology, and chairs the Learning Management System Working Group. This blog allows those areas to merge, bringing you up-to-date information about the field of educational technology and the resources available to you at UC Davis.
As part of her role as graduate student researcher for ATS, Larissa edits and writes content for The Wheel as the Managing Editor. She is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology. Prior to graduate school, she worked as a research assistant on K-12 education program evaluations for a social policy research organization.
