About this talk: Dr. Pettey rapidly converted to remote instruction and taught three courses concurrently during Spring 2020. To continue to meet the learning objectives of each course and to meet student needs as determined by the university's pre-quarter survey, each course reflected a different pedagogical approach. He discusses how student engagement, student learning, and response surveys provided feedback on the comparison of each instruction style.

About the presenter:

  Dr. Allen Pettey is a Professor of Teaching in Animal Science with 15 years of university teaching experience. He has designed and taught eight courses within the department and is the new master advisor for the Animal Science and Management major. His research focuses on the effectiveness of teaching methodologies and technologies as they apply to animal science courses; pedagogically sound approaches to curriculum and course development for traditional and non-traditional animal science students; and applied livestock nutrition with a focus on the of alternative feed ingredients.
