Excited for the 2018 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology! September 14th at 8:30 in 1309 Surge III / The Grove

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

I’m writing to thank all UC Davis faculty who have registered for the 2018 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology. We meet on Friday, September 14th, starting at 8:30am, in 1309 The Grove / Surge III.

We are looking forward to hearing from our keynote speaker, Dr, Jeannette Ruiz, from the Department of Communication. Her talk is titled, “How I moved my course online and lived to tell the tale.”

Dr. Ruiz is a Lecturer (LPSOE) for the Department of Communication at UC Davis and a CAMPOS Faculty Scholar. She specializes in strategic communication with a specific interest in emerging practices and concepts in digital and social media. In addition to her appointment in the Department of Communication, she has served as a human resources and public relations consultant. Dr. Ruiz’s research focuses on public health communication and the Internet as well as the globalization, structure and ownership concentration of the international Internet. Currently, she is exploring topics in diversity and inclusion in higher education.

We will provide paper copies of the agenda at SITT, as well as other materials that we hope you will find helpful. Presenter slides and other materials that come up during SITT presentations and discussions will be provided digitally to SITT registrants starting next week. We look forward to making conversation and discoveries together. See FINAL - SITT 2018 Agenda-2 for the agenda!

On behalf of the SITT Planning Team,
