Consider Presenting a Microtalk at SITT 2019 on September 13th!

SITT 2019: Building in Active Learning

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

I’m writing to invite you to propose a presentation for the 2019 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT), to be held on Friday, September 13th in 3 Kleiber. For more than 20 years, SITT has provided faculty an opportunity to meet with colleagues from across the disciplines, talk about teaching discoveries and strategies, and learn about the technology tools that help our students accomplish their learning objectives.

We are now looking for presenters -- faculty who could share discoveries and insights in ten-minute “microtalks.” We anticipate that faculty talks will focus on such topics as encouraging student engagement, integrating technologies to support student learning inside and outside of the classroom, and using Canvas to facilitate active learning. Afternoon break-out sessions in computer classrooms will give SITT participants an opportunity to work hands-on with some of the technology tools reviewed in earlier sessions and that faculty presenters may bring up in their microtalks.

Please consider this invitation to participate as a presenter (or use this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfkB3t8C3ylnMoSWoeXHfNAsSp4OhhnAzKO5CZHNqLmRsggUw/viewform?usp=sf_link ). Please submit your proposal by Friday, May 24th. Please also save the September 13th date, and expect a link soon to the SITT registration page. Updates will also be shared on The Wheel, the instructional technology blog for UC Davis.

Thank you!

Dr. Andy Jones
