Invitation to January 2021 Faculty Forum: "What's Working for You"

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

I’m writing to invite you to our first ATS Faculty Forum of the year on this Friday, January 15 at noon. This month we are focusing on the theme of “What’s Working for You.” All of us continue to make adjustments and discoveries about best teaching practices, whether regarding the use of Zoom as a teaching tool, strategies for engaging with students who sometimes prefer not to appear on camera, or steps we take to ensure students are accomplishing the educational objectives for our classes.

Our Faculty Forums are driven more by participating faculty and topics than by agendas, and are always enriched by the participation of new faculty with innovative ideas. While we will have some “ringers” in the Zoom room who always jump into the conversation to ask or answer questions, we hope that you and your colleagues will also join us to participate in this “check-in” Faculty Forum, even if you have never attended one of our events. We meet this coming Friday, January 15 at noon via Zoom.

Please plan to join us. See you there!

Best,

Dr. Andy Jones

Academic Associate Director of Academic Technology Services

University of California, Davis

P.S. If you or members of your department would benefit from a tailored workshop or question-and-answer session with our instructional designers, please email us at instructionaldesign@ucdavis.edu to set that up. With a long presentation or a quick Q+A during an already scheduled meeting, we will gladly adapt our remarks to meet your faculty team’s needs. We would love to share with you and members of your program or department how ATS services and other technology tools could benefit you and your students.
