October 18th Faculty Forum on Teaching with Interaction and Engagement

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

On Friday, October 18th at noon (via Zoom), Academic Technology Services will be hosting our first Faculty Forum of the school year, and we hope you will join us.

Our October Faculty Forum will focus on student response systems, especially iClicker. Studies show that students learn more from classes where they are invited or even required to participate. Many small seminars depend upon engaging conversations to drive the curriculum, while those of us who teach larger classes depend on technologies of various sorts to bridge various divides, whether concerning classroom geography, learning styles, or Myers-Briggs type indications.

We will be joined by a number of knowledgeable “plants” in the room, including Victoria Cross (Psychology), Laci Gerhart (Evolution and Ecology), and Joël Porquet-Lupine (Computer Science).

As a bonus, this Faculty Forum will feature an additional optional webinar. From 1-1:30 pm, right after the Forum, Melissa O’Brien, our awesome trainer and client relationship specialist from MacMillan, will demonstrate some of the uses of iClicker.

This faculty forum, and the bonus webinar will be recorded for your later enjoyment and edification, but we hope you will show up with a lunch just to overhear the conversation.

See you October 18th at noon!
