SITT is Next Week! Register Now for Individual Live Events!
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
Thanks so much to those of you who have already registered for the 2020 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology. We start next week!
I write to remind you to register separately for the individual live events offered next week during SITT 2020. Registering for each individual event allows you to receive the relevant Zoom information for each event, allows the speakers and the SITT planning committee to know how many attendees to expect at each event, and allows SITT staff to manage the crowds, as we have over 300 registrants this year! So please register now for live events of interest at the SITT 2020 Live Events webpage.
These live events include a keynote by Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Spanish Robert Blake, and a host of other webinar and discussion offerings that will impart invaluable insights about instructional technology from UC Davis’ vibrant community of instructors. Event topics include improving student engagement and motivation in online settings, addressing student readiness for online learning, and using pre-recorded videos in teaching.
SITT begins next week on Monday, July 20. Asynchronous content will be posted that day on the SITT 2020 webpage. Please take the time to review our faculty pre-recorded content in preparation for the live events taking place July 22, 23, and 24. SITT speakers and staff will reference these pre-recorded interviews and video presentations throughout the live series of events.
We thank you for registering for SITT and look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning of next week. If you want to persuade a colleague to join us at this annual no-cost event hosted by Academic Technology Services, with the theme this year being “Remotely Possible: Moving Beyond the Emergency,” please direct interested parties to the registration form. All are invited to register for live events of interest at the SITT 2020 Live Events webpage.
We look forward to your joining us next week at SITT 2020!
Best regards,
Dr. Andy Jones Academic Associate Director, Academic Technology Services Host, SITT 2020
