"Tim's Take" on Social Media
Tim Kerbavaz is an undergraduate at UC Davis majoring in Technocultural Studies; he is also the leader of the Technocultural Studies Club, which meets to share projects and talk about culturally relevant topics. The club also hosts workshops about electronics, art, and social media.
A few months ago, Tim and his colleague, Todd Kaiser, ran a social media workshop that focused on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tumblr, and Wordpress. Through presentations on each network, Tim and Todd discussed how to establish and maintain an online presence. Additionally, they showed Tim’s portal page and talked about about.me, emphasizing the importance of centralizing your online presence. Describing the event, Tim explains, “participants shared their individual uses of social media, turning the workshop into a ‘skills share’ between students and community members.”
Tim has consented to share his knowledge with us over a series of blog posts. Check back for “Tim’s Take” on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Tumblr.
