February 15th Faculty Forum on Instructional Design Strategies

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

This month’s Faculty Forum (February 15th) will focus on instructional design strategies. Join Dr. Margaret Merrill and Mark Wilson, instructional designers for Academic Technology Services, for a discussion of how iterative instructional design strategies can make your teaching practices more effective and more efficient. They will be tailoring the discussion to satisfy audience needs and interests, with plenty of time to focus on your questions, challenges, and goals, so feel free to bring your thorniest concerns! Topics may include models of instructional design, Canvas development strategies, and tips for fostering effective learning in flipped, blended, and online modes.

This forum will also provide you an opportunity to learn about some of the innovative teaching goals and struggles of our faculty colleagues, and thus gain some wisdom and perspective as you consider how you might improve your students’ learning experiences for the rest of winter quarter, for this coming spring quarter, and beyond.

We meet on Friday, February 15th at noon in 1310 Surge III / The Grove, and we would love for you to join us. Please also add to your calendars the March 1st DOLCE on a variety of topics, and the March 15 faculty forum on week-one teaching technology strategies.

Best,

Dr. Andy Jones
