Join us for DOLCE this Friday, February 3 for a noon discussion on teaching with video and other topics

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Before the pandemic made Zoom ubiquitous and home-recorded instructional videos commonplace, our colleague from Mathematics, Joseph Biello, had started sharing what he calls “really clear videos” in his Math 21D: Vector Analysis class, and then using class time to engage with students and solve math problems requested by the students.

Join us for DOLCE Friday, February 3rd at noon to learn from Professor Biello’s experience over several years of figuring how best to “flip” his math classes, and from other colleagues who have taught successfully with video.

This month’s DOLCE will conclude with an update on innovative teaching with ChatGPT (which just turned two months old). My ATS colleague Dr. Margaret Merrill will also share a newly-written guide that will support our making our classes more accessible to all learners at UC Davis.

We hope you can join us for this recorded event. See you Friday, February 3rd at noon via Zoom! [This event is in the past; please watch the recording.]

P.S. We had almost 100 colleagues join us at our recent faculty forum on teaching in the age of ChatGPT. The video is now available for viewing.
