Live Events Schedule for Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
The schedule of live events for the 2020 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT) is now available for your review! At the SITT 2020 Live Events webpage, you can review the live webinar and discussion offerings, peruse speakers’ bios, and register for any and all live events of your interest. Event topics include improving student engagement and motivation in online settings, addressing student readiness for online learning, using pre-recorded videos in teaching, and more!
These live events, including a keynote by Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Spanish Robert Blake, will take place the mornings of July 22, 23, and 24, now just a couple weeks away! If you haven’t yet registered for the first-ever virtual SITT taking place throughout the week of July 20th, please complete the registration form and visit the SITT 2020 webpage for more information. The theme of this year’s SITT, a no-cost event that is hosted each year by Academic Technology Services, is “Remotely Possible: Moving Beyond the Emergency.”
For SITT 2020, we are also offering pre-recorded faculty interviews and 10-minute microtalks by faculty and staff. Topics will include turning virtual office hours into exam review sessions, encouraging peer instruction, using video to improve communication and instructor presence, and creating effective and student-centric Canvas course pages. All this asynchronous content will be posted on Monday, July 20th, and will be available for review during the week of SITT, and beyond.
We look forward to your virtually joining us the week of July 20th for SITT 2020.
Best regards,
Dr. Andy Jones
