November 15th Faculty Forum on Authentic Assessment and Generative AI

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

On Friday, November 15th at noon (via Zoom), Academic Technology Services will be hosting a Faculty Forum on authentic assessments in the age of GenAI. We hope you will join us.

Professor Jay Stachowicz from Evolution and Ecology, winner of the most recent UC Davis Prize for Undergraduate Teaching and Scholarly Achievement, has raised some compelling concerns regarding encouraging and maintaining academic integrity in students completing research papers and take-home exams. Participants in our next Faculty Forum will follow his lead into a conversation about guiding our students towards mastery in course content when many of them are frequently choosing also to be guided by ChatGPT.

We will be joined by Professor Stachowicz and by Marilyn Derby, Associate Director of the UC Davis Office of Student Support and Judicial Affairs.

We hope you can also be in the room to overhear, or contribute to, the conversation! Please register now and add this event to your calendar.

See you November 15th at noon. This event will be recorded with the video to be subsequently posted on The Wheel, the instructional technology blog of UC Davis.
