SITT 2020 Call for Virtual Faculty Contributors and Presenters
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
In response to the continued need for physical distancing, this year’s Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT) will take place entirely online with a mix of pre-recorded presentations and live webinars on July 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. The theme of SITT this year is “Remotely Possible: Moving Beyond the Emergency.”
I am writing to invite you to contribute to the first-ever virtual SITT by proposing a presentation or webinar based on your experiences and insights about teaching during the sudden shift to remote instruction and your plans for moving beyond the emergency.
SITT 2020 will feature brief pre-recorded faculty presentations or interviews (5-10 minutes each) shared on our website beginning July 20, as well as synchronous webinars (50 minutes each) that will be held later that week. We welcome proposals on topics of your choosing, including, perhaps, some of the following:
To be considered, please reply using our SITT 2020 Request for Proposals form with a brief summary of your topic (50-100 words) and proposed format (pre-recorded video, interview, or live webinar) no later than Monday, June 1. Selected presenters will be notified by Friday, June 5.

- An important lesson you learned while moving instruction to digital spaces
- Tips for creating engaging remote learning experiences
- Integrating active learning into synchronous and asynchronous remote lessons
- Teaching remotely with videos or podcasts
- Strategies for adapting to future remote teaching needs
- Ways that your future in-person teaching will be different after your remote teaching experiences
