SITT 2020- Save the Dates for July 22nd, 23rd, and 24th!

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Please save the dates! The Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT) has been scheduled for the week of July 20th. Historically, SITT has taken place in September before the beginning of fall quarter. During this time of remote teaching, we have reenvisioned SITT to meet current faculty needs over the summer, and to help us all prepare thoroughly for whatever the fall may bring us.

SITT will be a virtual event this year. The theme is “Remotely Possible: Moving Beyond the Emergency.” Faculty will have access to asynchronous pre-recorded faculty microtalks and presentations beginning on Monday, July 20th. On Wednesday, July 22nd; Thursday, July 23rd; and Friday, July 24th; there will be a keynote, live webinars, as well as daily debriefs in which faculty can meet and discuss takeaways with colleagues and staff.

On behalf of the SITT planning committee, I invite UC Davis faculty and staff to join us at virtual SITT in which we can reflect on what we have learned from this quarter of remote teaching to better serve our students in face-to-face courses, blended courses, or fully-online courses.

Stay tuned for a forthcoming request for proposals for faculty microtalk presentations as well as registration information. Meanwhile, mark July 22-24 on your calendar, and plan to join us!

Best,

Andy Jones
