Video from the April 4th DOLCE on Large and Small Language Models and OER
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
Thanks to everyone who attended our recent DOLCE on Teaching with AI and with Open Educational Resources. As you will see from the recording, Mairaj Syed from Religious Studies and Briel Brown from English engaged the group of more than 20 faculty on their innovative teaching in UC Davis classes.
Enjoy this short preview before you review the full recording of the April 4th DOLCE.
Please plan to join us on first and third Fridays of the month at noon (via Zoom) for forums like this one, including two events in May of 2025. We love to fill our Zoom rooms with numerous and small tiles representing many faculty and their disciplines.
Our ATS instructional design consultants love to consult with faculty on large and small projects. To schedule a consultation with them, please email instructionaldesign@ucdavis.edu.
With thanks to our presenters and attendees,
Dr. Andy Jones
Academic Director, Academic Technology Services
Editor in Chief, The Wheel

From our colleague Patricia Turner at CEE:
- “I have a module that I add faculty to in my Seminar on College Teaching - the module teaches students to think critically about AI as a necessary precursor (in my opinion) of using it. Anyone interested in seeing the module, please feel free to send me an email at pturner@ucdavis.edu and I’ll add you to the module.”
- “I’m giving a workshop on the module on April 15: https://cee.ucdavis.edu/events/promoting-students-critical-thinking-around-ai”
