Video from the May 2nd DOLCE on collaborative undergraduate research and AI feedback

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Thanks to everyone who attended our May 2nd DOLCE on teaching undergraduates to create collaborative independent research projects with Google Slides (Whitney Duim from Chemistry), as well as using generative AI to summarize peer comments on collaborative projects in Biomedical Engineering classes (by Jennifer Choi).

Both Professor Duim and Professor Choi discussed and exemplified the sort of innovative teaching that resonates with our high-achieving STEM students. Here’s what one attendee shared in our post-event survey: “These two talks were really great. I appreciated how both speakers showed me accessible ways to include AI in my teaching in productive ways. I really depend on the expertise of my teaching peers in this area, and was not disappointed!”

Enjoy this short preview before you review the full recording of the May 2nd DOLCE.

Please plan to join us on the first and third Fridays of the month at noon (via Zoom) for forums like this one. At our events, attendees always benefit from hearing a variety of perspectives, including yours.

Our ATS instructional design consultants love to consult with faculty on large and small projects. To schedule a consultation with them, please email instructionaldesign@ucdavis.edu.

With thanks to our presenters and attendees,
