April 15 Faculty Forum on Preparing to Teach Virtual and Hybrid Courses – join us!

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Some of us loved teaching remotely so much that we would like to continue to exercise that option in the future. Let’s talk about it!

You may have seen Provost Croughan’s February message about planning for fall and the subsequent Academic Senate announcement about the return to fully in-person classes in the fall, without the remote options / exceptions that have been in use for the last year or more. The Academic Senate announcement in particular shared the rapidly-approaching 30 June deadline for Committee on Courses of Instruction (or COCI) applications. 

We have planned an April 15 Faculty Forum that will provide a space for faculty who might be interested in submitting a proposal to COCI to learn about the COCI approval process from those who have completed it successfully. The conversation will likely also touch on other instructional technology and remote teaching topics, so you should plan to attend, regardless. To find out more about the process of applying to teach a future class in a hybrid or online format, please visit the Academic Senate COCI Policies and Procedures webpage.
