December 13th Noon DOLCE -- A Hands-On Workshop: "Actionable Approaches to Accessibility"

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

The last DOLCE of 2019 takes place this coming Friday, December 13th and will feature a hands-on workshop on “Actionable Approaches to Accessibility” presented by Dr. Margaret Merrill, Instructional Designer and Educational Technologist with Academic Technology Services (ATS), Larissa Saco, Graduate Student Researcher with ATS, and Joshua Hori, Accessible Technology Analyst for the Student Disability Center.

As instructors, we are responsible for ensuring that our courses are accessible for all our students. Utilizing technology processes effectively can help make our courses better meet the needs of every student in our classes. Please bring a laptop to DOLCE, for in this workshop you will apply actionable tech processes to make your own courses more accessible.

We know that final exams (and finals grading) have begun; we hope that means that this hour on Friday will be unclaimed for those of you who are in Davis this week. Please join us this Friday, December 13th for DOLCE in Surge III / The Grove at noon.

Also, don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 2020 DOLCE and Faculty Forums on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month, respectively. Topics this winter will include cross-disciplinary international collaborations, podcasting, and varied uses of video to support student learning.

With year-end regards,

Andy Jones

Academic Associate Director, Academic Technology Services
