Provost Hybrid Course Award Winners Announced

Six faculty have received the Provost Hybrid Course Award (PHCA), which provides support to develop innovative hybrid courses in which face-to-face instruction and activities are integrated with online instruction and activities.

The courses selected for the 2014-15 PHCA include four hybrid redesigns of existing courses, as well as new classes in economics and communications. The recipients are:
  • Ann Stevens, Economics
  • Drew Halfmann, Sociology
  • Adam Sennett, Philosophy
  • Louise Kellogg, Earth and Planetary Sciences
  • Elyse Lord, University Writing Program
  • Laramie Taylor, Communication
The courses will be developed throughout 2014, and we can look forward to them launching in winter and spring 2015.

Each awardee will receive $12,500 in funding, as well as consultation and technical support from the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and Academic Technology Services (ATS) and automatic acceptance into this winter’s Designing Hybrid Courses workshop series. Many awardees also are receiving significant departmental and/or division contributions.

Congratulations to the awardees!
