Registration for SITT 2020 is Now Open!
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
Please register your intent to join us at the 2020 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT). As with so many of the world’s colloquia this year, SITT 2020 will meet via Zoom this July 22nd, 23rd, and 24th as we faculty continue to navigate teaching and learning through the COVID-19 pandemic. Just as this forced move to remote teaching prompts faculty to re-envision pedagogy to better serve students, we at Academic Technology Services (ATS) are reenvisioning SITT to better help you meet remote teaching challenges.
In some ways, SITT this year will resemble SITTs of the past 25 years. We will continue to offer webinars hosted by ATS staff on teaching and technology, and microtalks in which our talented faculty colleagues share their successes (and lessons learned) using technology to teach.
In important ways, SITT will also differ from previous years’ meetings. For the first time, SITT will be virtual with a combination of live and recorded talks. SITT will also take place in July to provide faculty support as they teach remotely in summer sessions and to provide faculty enough time to reflect on teaching goals and limitations as they revise courses for the fall.
No matter the medium, we know we can count on the excitement and engagement of our faculty attendees. We look forward to “seeing” you all July 22nd, 23rd, and 24th for SITT. Please register now, as virtual space is limited.
Also, please remember, the deadline for submitting proposals for faculty microtalk presentations is this Monday, June 1st. For more information, check out the request for proposals. We would love to showcase your ideas at this year’s SITT!
Best,
Dr. Andy Jones
