Save the Date! LMS Vendor Showcase: May 23
UC Davis’ learning management system (LMS), SmartSite, is currently powered by Sakai, but our contract is ending soon. Consequently, for the last year, the LMS Working Group (a subset of the Campus Council for Information Technology/Educational Technology Subcommittee) has been investigating LMS options. As part of that process, we recently published a Request for Proposal, and plan to pilot two or three learning management systems next fall.
To assist us in determining campus priorities and interests, Information & Educational Technology Services is hosting an LMS Vendor Showcase.
We want as much feedback as possible from faculty, students, and staff, so please invite your colleagues and your students!
If you are unable to attend the Showcase, we will make video recordings of the presentations available online, and will welcome distance attendees to complete the LMS Showcase Evaluation form.
If you've not done so already, please also take a few minutes to complete the LMS Survey, which asks you to indicate what learning management system features are a high priority for you, and invites you to offer additional recommendations or comments.

When: May 23, 2014, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Where: Memorial Union, Second Floor (MU2 and King Lounge) Light refreshments will be provided.
At the Showcase, three major LMS vendors--Canvas, Desire2Learn, and Sakai--will give presentations that include demonstrations of their products, and will be available to answer questions. You will also have the opportunity to provide feedback via an LMS Showcase Evaluation form.
