We heard insightful and nuanced presentations on generative AI and effective teaching from Julie Sze of American Studies and Julia Chamberlain from Chemistry. - Another GREAT idea for using GenAI when teaching a course for the first time: 3/19/2025 - “Supporting the Instructional Design Process: Stress-Testing Assignments with AI” [facultyfocus.com] by Nathan Pritts. The author suggests running assignment prompts through a genAI tool as part of the design process and inviting the tool to give a range of student responses to the prompt based on your course and your student population(s). This can allow you to identify possible pain points before students ever see the assignment, saving time for both you and them.
