Using Technology to Enhance Mathematical Skills in a General Education Nutrition Course
Debbie Fetter
Description
This presentation will discuss how to use technology to help students with mathematical skills in a general education course that doesn’t directly teach mathematical concepts. In nutrition, basic math principles are often used, such as averages and percent equations. However, not all students are comfortable with their math skills. Google sheets that walk students through calculations and supplemental videos created in the eLearning studio can help students with these skills and have become valuable resources. This presentation will introduce ways other instructors can include these tools in their own courses.
