How I’m Trying to Detect and Adapt to AI

In this video, I will share ways that I have been trying to deter unauthorized use of AI in my class assignments. This presentation will in part be a tutorial video as I screen share and demonstrate ways of using AI detection software and revision history. This will also be a reflection as I consider limits in my current approach and identify the next steps for my classes.

About the Presenter
Mark Verbitsky, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Political Science department at UC Davis, teaching classes on constitutional law and American political theory. Among his pedagogical interests are teaching students learning skills, including undergraduates as part of a teaching team (learning assistants), and integrating non-knowledge based learning outcomes into his courses. Of late, he has been exploring ways of sustaining education in the emerging age of AI.
