“Tim’s Take” on LinkedIn

UC Davis undergraduate and ATS employee Tim Kerbavaz explains that LinkedIn is “a platform for creating and maintaining professional contacts. It’s a social networking tool to help you leverage your professional network.”

Tim points out that the Introductions feature of LinkedIn is both helpful and underused. LinkedIn shows you the “degrees of separation between you and someone you might want to meet, and the Introductions feature allows you to ask one of your contacts to introduce you to one of their contacts. I’d suggest doing this in person first,” Tim advises, “but using the Introductions feature is good because it gives you a digital trail.”
