May 15th Faculty Forum on Improving Our Classes and Preparing for Summer (and SITT) – join us at noon via Zoom!
Dear Faculty Colleagues,
On Friday, May 15th at noon (via Zoom), Academic Technology Services will be hosting a Faculty Forum on summer opportunities for creative rethinking and refining of our courses for the coming school year. We hope you will join us.
For many of us, summer offers an opportunity to reconsider how our courses are structured and presented. We might review what our classes ask students to do, how we sequence learning units and activities, and how we might better support engagement and understanding. This May 15th forum will provide a space for faculty participants to share early ideas, works-in-progress, and plans for course redesigns.
This conversation will also serve as a bridge to the Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT), taking place September 10–11. Faculty who are experimenting with new approaches this spring and summer are encouraged to share their work, insights, or results with colleagues at SITT. See our “Join SITT” page for information on submitting a talk or interview proposal to the SITT planning committee. Proposals are due by Tuesday, May 19th, and we would love to consider yours.
See you on May 15th at noon. This event will be recorded with the video to be subsequently posted on The Wheel, the instructional technology blog of UC Davis.
