Video from the November Faculty Forum on Generative AI teaching strategies

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

The neuroscientist and engineer Jeff Hawkins once said that “The key to artificial intelligence has always been the representation.” We appreciate the significant faculty representation at our AI Faculty Forum on Friday, November 17th. We appreciated the lively discussion and your thoughtful comments from the more than 50 attendees!

Upcoming Faculty Forum on Generative AI teaching strategies

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Stephen Hawking said, “Success in creating AI would be the biggest event in human history. Unfortunately, it might also be the last, unless we learn how to avoid the risks.”

I don’t know if we have yet reached what Hawking predicted as “success,” but I do know that AI informs an increasing number of decisions made in the business world. While academic technology typically lags communications technologies, this year we and our students nevertheless have found ourselves negotiating the opportunities and challenges presented by generative AI.

Dear UC Davis Friends and Colleagues,

The Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT) returns soon, and we would love for you and your faculty colleagues to join us! Keeping in mind this year’s theme—Small Acts, Big Impacts—SITT 2023 will showcase UC Davis faculty who creatively use technology to help students succeed one step at a time.

Summer is almost upon us! Please fill out this survey to help Academic Technology Services support you this summer and beyond

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Rather than hold a DOLCE event at the busy end of the spring quarter, this week we are asking you to fill out a brief survey so we can tailor our future faculty events and our summer instructional design support to your expressed needs. We value your feedback and insights on our services, events, and resources.
