Faculty Forum about Preparing to Teach Virtual and Hybrid Courses - Report and summary video

Thanks to all the faculty and staff who joined us for a special Faculty Forum on strategies for both applying to teach and actually teaching future hybrid and online classes at UC Davis. Thirty-five participants from across the disciplines joined us for a conversation that touched on meeting the needs of students with disabilities and medical concerns, terminology and definitions relevant to hybrid and online teaching, strategies for teaching with lecture-captured video, and negotiating the process of applying to teach new classes, or established courses in a new mode.

What Happened During the Spring 2022 Ed Tech Week?

During the first week of this spring term, Academic Technology Services staff again held Ed Tech Week where instructional designers and technologists hosted live webinars and curated asynchronous resources to help UC Davis instructors quickly set up the technologies for their upcoming courses. A New Role for a Familiar Face

Welcome to Information and Educational Technology, Joshua Hori! Many of you know, or have heard the name Josh Hori, formerly of the Student Disability Center (SDC) and now, as of Feb. 6, 2022, part of IET in Academic Applications.

Meggan Levitt, assistant vice provost/associate CIO for Academic Applications, is excited about the opportunities that will come with this new hire, saying, “One of the goals with this position is to build a culture of accessibility within IET to help us learn from each other and share what we’ve learned with our campus affiliates.”
